Our funny boy

Liam says the funniest things, here are some words he says and the real words:

* Conksisser, a Concrete Mixer

* Am-amps, an Ambulance

* Stitch, a Switch (network)

* KCC, instead of KFC

* Plese, instead of Police

What happens when you growl at a 2 year old?

This will go down in history as one of the most unexpected and humbling experiences we've had with Liam to date.

One of his little 'traits' at the moment is that he lets out these short loud screams (sometimes several at a time) when he doesn't get his way. They are more or less a vocal temper tantrum. I have tried for the last few weeks to just ignore them but it had made no difference - if anything, he's getting worse. So tonight when he let out this angry little scream I immediately smacked the back of his legs. It would have hurt a little as it was on his skin and he had no pants on (but he did have a nappy on).

Did you know...

...that if you click on the Title of each blog entry you get much more content? The blog site only puts the first few setences on the main page, the rest can be seen by clicking on each blog entry.

The digger

One of Liam's recent interests and words is "digger!". It's a bit like "star" - anywhere he sees a digger or anything that looks like a digger he shouts out "digger!". Very cute.

So I took him off to Mt. Roskill to see the new highway that is being built. The workers are still levelling the path and slicing through the soil, so I knew there would be diggers and all sorts of machines around. Even on Saturday afternoon we got to have a good look.

back home

i have been abit slack with the blog entries since being away-mainly cos i didn't have access to my own computer and since being back haven't gotten into the swing of things again.

Liam really developed with his talking whilst being in Sydney, mainly because he had alot more stimulation and exposure to adults talking to him all the time. He says a few more words now that i mentioned in the last blog.

como park

today we went to como park for a bbq lunch. it's a lovely park near the water down at como and has a swimming pool and a lovely new play area for the kids and new bbq facilities too.
we went and had coffee afterwards near the water at a cafe and i then tool liam for a walk along the wharf and we looked at jellyfish in the water.

love to sing..and dance!

today Joyce and myself and our two boys went a free love to sing concert in Ellerslie. Liam clapped his nads to a few of the songs and bopped and wiggled away-he's quite an Elvis the pelvis when he wants to be!

Shapes and balls

Liam was in a good mood tonight, and surprised us with two things that we never thought he could have done.

The first was with the computer. I know he is always keen to use it, but he must really take in what goes on because we put one of his games on tonight and he was glued to it. It's a CD with a whole lot of games for kids his age and a bit older, and one of them is all about dragging and matching the shapes. After me showing him a few times what to do, he was into it, no help whatsoever. Dragging shapes, fitting them in with the patterns etc etc and looking VERY confident with the mouse.

Strawberries

Strawberries are big in season here at the moment, $3 per punnet or $5 for two. I bought four punnets on Tuesday, one for each night till we run out. They are _delicious_ so I'm pushing them so that we eat lots while they are in season. In a few weeks the prices will go up, and they'll be out of season for the year.

Playing

"Deeeeeeee doooooooooohhh" - kids are funny. I guess they say silly things like that before they learn how to really talk :)

Here's a cool pic of Liam that I just uploaded.
